Lecture Topics Outline |
DETAILED COURSE DESCRIPTION - Technical Studies: scales, arpeggios, walking bass lines, harmonic progression, note reading, chart reading, 'numbers', slap technique, right and left hand technique, etc. - Style Studies: pop, rock, country, reggae, r&b, soul, funk, latin, jazz, gospel, etc. - Melodic Studies: soloing/improv concepts, jazz harmony and tension, melodic analysis, modal playing - Repertoire: rhythm/accompaniment and solo pieces in a variety of commercial styles - Jury: Prepared piece to be performed at the scheduled Jury Recital date - Study of Commercial Ensemble Tunes when applicable student - Fundamentals: Bach for Bass study |

Attendance Policy | There are about 15 weeks in every semester; students are expected to attend at least 14 lessons per semester. Final grades will be reduced 5 points for every lesson missed. | ||||||||
